Amy Atlas Feature :: My Christmas Dessert Table!

My dessert table

Wow, what can I say?! What a way to end 2010, waking up last Wednesday morning to find my Christmas dessert table I styled was featured on the amazing Amy Atlas Events blog- someone who I look up to and who continually inspires me. Such an honour, and also very exciting to be featured a second time, after my Halloween dessert guest feature.

The colours I chose to use and centre my dessert table around were red, aqua and white. These colours have carried through my house with my white christmas tree and coloured baubles and dining table display. I purchased some gorgeous hand painted wooden christmas style birds from Charbella which were the inspiration for my table. I love these colours, for me they are a nice twist to traditional green and red.

It was all about the ribbons for me. I love gift wrapping at any time of the year, but especially at Christmas time I love to wrap a big red bow around anything! So, it was natural that I incorporate ribbons where I could on my dessert table.

Here are some elements & little details I used to create my table;

*Gingerbread cookies by the gorgeous Libby at Polkadot Cookies

*Red rock candy (from Candy Soirees)  which I embellished with aqua ribbon

*Delicious cinnamon donuts from donut king! I drizzled some icing and sprinkled with coconut to resemble "snow". Simple yet so effective when layered into a tower.
*Blue flags added some charm (available here)
*Absolutely gorgeous white ribbon stand from Tracey Lau.

*Apothecary and candy jars filled with jaffas, sugared white balls, blue sugared almonds.
Thank you to Green Apple Paperie for their Peppermint printables which tied in beautifully.

*Sweet little stands (available here) which I tied a red ribbon on the stand were used to hold paper wrappers filled with cherries.
I love cherries at Christmas time, sweet, red & delicious. Can't go wrong!

*White ruffled cake (made by a friend) sat elegantly on a Donna Hay milkglass stand.
*Mini glass bottles filled with milk & topped with a peppermint candy cane. The little ones loved drinking these!

*Almond nougat, cut into blocks. I used red ribbon & aqua twine (available here)
and tied it to resemble a "gift".

*A red snowflake pedestal mini cake stand was home to white chocolate snowcones which I purchased from Coles supermarket! Fuss free and delicious!

*More stunning cookies by Polkadot Cookies. Red hearts with the word ''joy''. So fitting for Christmas time!

Other items which I included;
*Red paper fans available at Mon Tresor were perfect for the backdrop.
*White wood candlesticks and red candles from Ikea.
*Aqua tablecloth
*White wooden twigs & handpainted birds (Charbella)

I would also love to thank the following business' for their support and beautiful feedback about my dessert table through blogging & facebooking. It is very much appreciated  x
