Off to NYC!

image via here

The day has finally arrived! I will be visiting my most favourite city in the entire world- Manhattan, New York. I am looking forward to a girly NYC experience, heading to the Big Apple with my sister for loads of shopping, sightseeing & dining. Words cannot describe how excited I am feeling right now, I was only there two years ago with my hubby & boys and it really does feel like yesterday.
I look forward to sharing my experience & a snapshot of my time there.
Speak soon xx

REAL PARTY SUBMISSION: Vintage Carnival Back to School

The lovely Dorangela from Two Prince Theatre Bakery recently styled a fabulous vintage carnival back to school block party. I love the idea of celebrating the beginning of a new school term, a tradition that is not as prevalent in Australia. I love how the whole street was involved and it looks like so much fun was had with all the traditional carnvial style games. Wonderful work Dorangela!

As Dorangela tells ''Our entire street got together and threw a big Vintage Carnival. Two Prince Bakery Theater styled the party and Bushel & Peck Papers designed the invitations and all the food and game signage.

Each neighbor set up a carnival themed activity in front of their house. We had professional face painters, balloon artist, a water slide bouncer, photo booth, balloon darts, ring toss and even a prize table! We ate old fashioned freshly popped popcorn and cotton candy, corn dogs and lots of sweet treats like Marshmallow clowns!

We had a great time celebrating the end of summer and another school year for our children. It was extra special for me because my son was beginning Kindergarten!

REAL PARTY SUBMISSION: Aeroplane Party!

candy bar in coordinated blue, red and white candy
Up up and away! Thank you to Kylie from The Little Oak Tree for sending through this adorable aeroplane themed birthday party for her son Callum's first birthday party. I love the fresh colour palette of sky blue, red and white. It is always such a crisp and classic combination and it perfectly fitting for an aeroplane theme.

chocolate bars & muslin bags personalised with a stamp

The stamped wooden spoons create that extra special detail and the personalised muslin bags are a great gift for guests to take home as they can be used to store little trinkets. I cannot go past the homemade marshmellow, it is the perfect shade of blue and Kylie made most of the desserts along with her talented mum who made the cake! Amazing!

Baby Sprinkle!

Today a Baby Sprinkle I styled was featured on the highly esteemed Amy Atlas Blog and of course I was absolutely honoured and thrilled!

As we come out of the winter season and warm clothes, this delighful baby sprinkle table I created used bright and fresh colours, reminiscent of Spring time. I adore the modern prints of chevron and trellis, so I incorporated them both in the table. I was especially excited to also use our little pink tote boxes with windows to store cookies in as take home favours.

A main focal point of the table was the stunning cake, created by Catherine of 2bites, located in Sydney. The pale yellow quilted cake with a fancy frame and the word baby stamped inside displays a touch of elegance. It towers over other sweet treats that include marshmellow pops with yellow sprinkles, rock candy, pink swirl lollipops, meringues and shots of strawberry mousse & cream. These were all washed down with some pink apple & grapefruit soda with lemon & mint leaves. The adorable duck cookies by Spoon & Fork sat on a tiered glass hobnail stand by Sweet Style. The cupcakes were purchased from the Cupcake Factory.
